The team were invited to assist to a South Manchester GP practice in three key areas:

The CQC inspection preparation required a significant review of practice systems and processes and resulted in a detailed action plan for staff to implement in order to ensure that the service was operating and presented to its full capacity.

Practice performance against various national and local indicators was also assessed in detail. The team utilised the practice information system to identify opportunities for improvement and also provided a forecast of performance at the end of the financial year with appropriate recommendations.

An assessment of work streams and staff roles was also undertaken with guidance provided around staff contracts, job descriptions and rotas.

A structured hands-on approach was agreed with the practice beforehand and with full cooperation from all staff the team were able to provide a bespoke and comprehensive response to the areas identified by the practice.
