Children benefit from basic life support training

8th June 2016

Primary school children have been learning about essential basic life support, thanks to a gtd healthcare GP practice.

Fifty-five children from St Raphael Primary School in Millbrook received the training, which was organised and paid for by gtd healthcare's Millbrook Medical Practice.

Pauline McGonigle, practice manager at Millbrook Medical Practice, said educating our local community and keeping them healthy is a key priority for the practice.

"The training was paid for via our successful innovation fund bid, which really demonstrates how the fund can benefit patients," she said.

"The nine to 11 year old children were really keen to learn new skills, which included Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), how to call an ambulance, first aid/bleeding, recovery position and choking"
