The NHS app, which is a simple and secure way to access a range of services, is owned and run by the NHS.

The app can be used to:

Access your NHS COVID-19 pass

View and share your COVID pass for event trials in England and to travel abroad.

Get advice about COVID-19

Get information about the virus and find out what to do if you think you have it.

Order repeat prescriptions

See your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.

Book appointments

If your GP has given you access, you can search for, book, and cancel appointments at your GP practice. You can also see details of your upcoming and past appointments.

Get health advice

Search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments.

View your health record

You can access your GP health record securely including viewing information such as current and past medicines. If your GP has given you access to your detailed medical record, you can also see information like test results and details of your consultations. Further information is available here.

Register your organ donation decision

Choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.

View your NHS number

You can find out your NHS number. An NHS number is a 10-digit number and is unique to you. It helps healthcare staff and service providers identify you correctly and match your details to your health records.

How to download the NHS app and set-up an NHS login

To download the app, please click here.

Please follow the guidance below on how to set-up an NHS login. To do this you will need an email address and a mobile phone number.

Enter your email address.
Create a secure password.
A six-digit security code will be sent to your email. You will be asked to enter this code into the app to verify your email address.
You will be asked to give your mobile phone number. Another six-digit security code will be sent via text message to your mobile phone. Please be aware, a security code will be sent to your mobile phone every time you log-in, unless you select ‘Remember this device and stop sending security codes’.
You will be asked to enter your NHS number - this is the best chance of matching you to your NHS record. However, if you do not know it, you can enter your full name instead.
Enter your date-of-birth.
You will be asked to provide the postcode your practice has on record for you.
To use the NHS app you must agree to the terms of use, privacy policy and cookies policy. You should read these carefully before continuing.
