Employees have been commended for their commitment and ambition to developing and driving forward improvement projects for the benefit of patients, staff and the community.

The Quality Improvement Awards 2023 showcased the outstanding efforts of the organisation’s workforce through nine posters being presented at head office on 30 November.

Staff engaged with the project leads to discuss their work in more detail, which amplified their exceptional commitment to quality improvement.

GAR23MLWEAAo0ZE.jpgProjects included improving the management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, hand hygiene and aseptic non-touch technique, introducing preceptorship into practice for newly qualified advanced clinical practitioners, and driving forward quality and governance for non-medical prescribing.

Jane Pugh, gtd healthcare’s director of finance and strategic resources, said the awards were a great way to highlight people’s passion for and delivery of innovation across the organisation.

“The awards provided an opportunity for individuals and teams to share best practice and celebrate their achievements,” she said.

This year’s judging panel consisted of the non-executive directors and directors, who were faced with the challenging task of reviewing all nine projects.

Jane added: “The standard of work that was presented made our decision-making process very difficult. What was evident and a key thread throughout the whole process was people’s unwavering dedication to providing high-quality care.”
