reubens.pngFamilies who have suffered the bereavement of a child or have a child suffering from a life limiting or life threatening illness will benefit from a course of counselling sessions thanks to a charitable donation from gtd healthcare.

Staff have raised more than £420 for Reuben's Retreat, their chosen charity of the year.

Fundraising activities have included raffles, book and cake sales, dress down days, Christmas jumper days, selling Reuben's Retreat merchandise and a staff team building event.

David Beckett, gtd healthcare's chief executive, said this is a great achievement.

"Key to our organisational values is to contribute to the well-being of our local communities and so we are really pleased to have raised this money, which will go to such a worthy cause," he said.

Lynne Redmond, Reuben Retreat's operational manager, said this is such incredible news.

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! More than £400 is a significant amount to us as it buys a course of counselling sessions for our families." she said.

The charity's goal is to open a retreat in the North West of England where families who have children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses can take respite breaks and take time to relax, recharge, remember and rebuild.

A huge thank you to all staff who have organised and supported the fundraising activities in aid of Reuben's Retreat.
