Patient feedback highlights impact of paediatric service

Patients, parents and carers have praised gtd healthcare's Children’s Respiratory Hub in Oldham for its clear communication, supportive staff and the reassuring care provided.

The service has been operational since November 2025 and supports children aged 0 to 16 years with respiratory illnesses that are not serious and can be safely treated outside of hospital. Based at the Integrated Care Centre, the service helps reduce unnecessary hospital admissions while ensuring children receive timely assessment and care from a paediatric advanced clinical practitioner.

Maxine Wood, paediatric lead, said the feedback received so far has been extremely encouraging.

“After every patient contact, we share a survey for patients, parents or carers to complete so we can review feedback and continue to learn and improve,” she said.

“It is reassuring to read such lovely feedback. Knowing that those accessing the service feel informed and supported demonstrates the positive impact this service is having on children, helping to ensure they receive the right care at the right time.”

The Children's Respiratory Hub is available to all patients who are registered with a GP practice in Oldham. Patients who meet the criteria must be referred via their GP practice.
