Baking skills were put to the test as colleagues across the organisation hosted fundraising events in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Led by Alison Hall, senior clinical practitioner, and Dr Harriette Packer, GP within the Clinical Hub, teams and services hosted their own bake sales to raise as much money as possible for charity.
Raising an incredible £340.98, Alison said the event was hugely popular and marked one of the most successful bake sales gtd has hosted.
“From delicious cakes to generous pockets, it was amazing to see staff come together - whether they baked, bought or donated – to raise money for a fantastic charity,” she said.
“I must also extend a special thanks to Jane Morton, operations manager’s dad, who at the age of 86 baked a lemon drizzle cake for the sale. I can confirm it was delicious and sold out in minutes!”
Ashton GP Service also got a slice of the action by organising a bake sale for staff and patients.
Gemma Rowlinson, senior administrator, said the bake sale was a great way to engage with patients while supporting a charity that means a lot to so many people.
“Fundraising initiatives like this are a great example of gtd healthcare’s commitment to social value and we were delighted to contribute to such an important initiative,” she said.
All money raised has been donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, which provides essential services, care and guidance to people living with cancer and their families across the UK. To find out more about the charity, please click here.
